In an amusing rather troubling incident, it is reported that Rajasthan police fines a car driver for not wearing a helmet in Bharatpur district. Vishnu Kumar who is a Kharera village resident said that police stopped him while he was driving his van from Agra to Bharatpur. Police fined him not because he wasn’t wearing a seat belt but because he was not wearing a helmet while driving the van. They proceeded to fine Rs 200 from the driver.
Narrating the complete incident, here is what Vishnu Kumar said,
“They asked me to park my car at the side of the road and demanded to check my papers for the vehicle. As they found all the documents in order, they claimed that they would issue a challan for not wearing seatbelt. I objected to that since I had been wearing a seatbelt and so was the passenger travelling with me in the car. Following this, the cops became adamant on issuing a challan to me.”
Now, Vishnu Kumar says that he has decided to drive his van wearing the helmet so that police does not fine him again. Meanwhile, Suresh Kumar Khinchi, Additional SP Bharatpur has said that he has not received any complaints on the same but he is planning to look into this matter.
Well, after reading this situation it looks like Police have decided to come up with their own bizarre and hilarious road rules.
