Bhaijaan of Bollywood, Salman Khan who is currently gearing up for his upcoming movie, Tiger Zinda Hai spoke up about most concerning question in the industry. Recently, several Bollywood stars have been opening up about their experience of casting couch in the industry. Casting couch has been the most debated issue in the country and this time it is Salman Khan who opened about Casting couch in Bollywood.
The actor recently opened up about the issue at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in partnership with CNN-News18 and spoke about the existence of the casting couch in the Hindi film industry, the actor said:
“No one has come and confirmed it. I have been there for the longest time, my father has been here (for) more (time) than me. Till today I have not heard anyone come and say it straight out. Now, being a beautiful woman or a man, someone or the other is going to flirt with you,” the actor said, adding that it is different from harassment.
He further said that,
“If someone is there with a principle that you have to sleep with them to get a job, then it is the most disgusting thing ever. I have not heard anything like this. If a lady or a man comes up to me and tells me that something of the sort has happened with them, I will take them down to the cleaners.”
Soon after many Hollywood actress came forward to explain their casting couch with Harvey Weinstein, there were many other celebs who joined the league and spoke about this embarrassing situation in the industry. From Swara Bhaskar to Radhika Apte and Ranveer Singh, everyone has come forward and opened up about their experience with casting couch in public. Recently, Ashish Bisht, whose Shab released in July, shared that he was frequently asked: “Are you comfortable in bed?” during professional meetings.
On the work front, Salman Khan will be next seen in Tiger Zinda Hai which is scheduled to release on December 22.
