A group of people including the relatives and close friends of the 9-year-old girl who was molested in Andra Pradesh set the police station on fire leaving four cops seriously injured.
The violence was triggered after the police failed to take appropriate action against the accused who was found molesting the little girl.
According to the reports, it is said that the girl was molested by 20-year-old bakery worker identified as Raghu on Tuesday. He took the girl from her home on his way back and when he tried to molest her, the girl raised an alarm thus gathering people around her.
The neighbors heard her cry and they caught the accused red-handed. The accused was further handed over to the police. In the evening, locals collected outside the police station and said that Raghu should be handed over to them. When police refused to take their demand, they started throwing stones inside the police station.
It further led to lathicharge in the area which agitated the locals to another extent. They further set the police station on fire leaving few cops injured.
